new project finished in 70’s style High Rise apartment South Perth on
the 9th floor with fantastic views

Completed in 5 weeks and budget $40 k total.

The owner of this tired, small apartment, with great views of the river, wanted to increase his rental return with a renovation. It’s in a great position high up on the 9th floor with commanding views of the south Perth foreshore and opposite Perth Zoo.

His aim was to freshen it up and make the rooms more functional, create a smart “executive type space”, for a new renter.

When we first arrived there, the apartment was original and very dated. Purple walls in lounge area, blue walls in bedrooms, dilapidated bathroom/laundry and very tight, run down, old original kitchen with no dishwasher and inadequate cooking space, with no pantry.

• All flooring was changed from carpet and lino, to premium vinyl planks
• A new paint job
• All new built- in cabinetry in kitchen and in laundry/bathroom
• All new appliances in the kitchen
• New vanity sink tap and mirror and semi frameless shower screen with no hob.

In a strata block, with many residents in close proximity, the job was cut out for us and there’s always limited access, noise restrictions and rubbish/ Work schedule/ time restrictions to deal with on a strata high-rise building. These difficulties accounted for the job running over time by a week.

The budget set for $40k included this;

• Total demolition costs and skip
• All new plumbing and electrical
• New kitchen cabinets and new pantry, with pull outs
• All new kitchen appliances – cook top, oven and range hood plus we added a half size dishwasher
• New bathroom vanity and laundry cabinets, built in storage in laundry
• New WC with semi framed shower and new shower and taps New mirror and lighting with
• New wall accessories
• All new floor and wall tiling to laundry/bath, full height to ceiling
• All new vinyl plank premium floors in all rooms
• New entry hall cupboards All new door handles and front entry locks All new
  lighting and switches
• Paint job throughout and on balcony inner wall
